OIL & GAS PROPPANTS
Our sand proppants are not only compatible with all hydraulic fracturing chemicals, but are of pure natural silica. This provides the advantage of obtaining both hardness and elasticity at the same time; meaning, our sands will not break up when repeatedly pounded by force when compared to ceramic proppants that are designed to be with a very rigid and hardened surface - accepting no tolerance.
Our wide range of sizes varying from 16 to 140 mesh are certified by PropTester Inc. for meeting and exceeding API RP-19C specifications for turbidity, acid solubility, and crush resistance. Furthermore, our high-quality Krumbein factors (roundness and sphericity) help establish and maintain the optimum down-hole porosity and permeability; and thus, fracture conductivity, which is critical to delivering the highest possible production rates over the life of the well.
FERROUS AND NONFERROUS CASTINGS
Sand is used in two different ways in metal casting: as a molding material, which forms the external shape of the cast part, and as cores, which form internal void spaces in products such as engine blocks. It has been used for centuries as a molding material because of its unique engineering properties and is estimated that approximately 100 million tons of sand is used annually.
At SIDCO Sands we understand that acquiring stringent physical and chemical properties is critical to the process, as poor quality sand can result in casting defects, so we invest significant resources in quality control of our sand operations with extensive testing done to maintain consistency in composition, which is an advantage for most end use applications.
INDUSTRIAL TREATMENT PLANTS
The main benefit of a sand filter is the simple system which, in many cases, can be used to obtain considerable yields in different phases of water management - as a pre-treatment filter, as a side-stream filtration, and as a polishing filter.
To ensure proper filtering, sand size, angularity, and hardness are important characteristics that yield to an extremely effective filter media because of its ability to hold back precipitates containing impurities in water.
