SIDCO Sands represents the future of natural sand proppants in Egypt - a country fierce for growth through industrial advancement and domestic oil and natural gas operations. Initially identified in 2015 under Abydos Mining, we had the opportunity to successfully supply the largest frac job done locally in the Apollonia Basin in 2016 while surpassing customer expectations through outstanding results from the first use of local sand.
Since then, SIDCO Sands has been separately established to solely focus on hydraulic fracturing sand production. As a first phase, the new plant will produce 240K MTPY (metric tons per year) of any requested size of natural silica sand proppant, with the capability of increasing capacity to 960K MTPY (2.11 Billion Pounds) to serve both the local and foreign markets.
Being situated near Egypt’s Western Desert in New Borg Al Arab City, about 70KM from Alexandria, reduced the distance from our plant to the site wells; translating to time and cost efficiencies for the customer. Moreover, our drive to continuously improve is exemplified through ongoing plant improvements, a research and development team, and a dedicated customer service to provide a consistent, cost effective supply delivered at the right time and place - anywhere across the globe.
